Permanent protection from the sun
Permanent pigment incorporation accounts for the functionality of TENCEL® SUN. The pigment comes from minerals and provides a long-term protection from solar radiation. Even after washing the clothing several times, TENCEL® SUN maintains its effectiveness.Tests show that a UV protection factor (UPF) of up to 110 can be reached.

One unique function is the swelling of the fiber which enables clothing made with TENCEL® SUN to scarcely lose its sun protection during outdoor sporting activities. Conventional fabrics can lose up to 50 % of their sun protection when they become damp and stretched.
