TENCEL® Waddings - Thin and warm

TENCEL® is successfully accepted in the active wear sector. A high moisture absorption makes TENCEL® the perfect fiber for sports. TENCEL® is now also being used in waddings in outdoor clothing. Here TENCEL® offers perfect thermal insulation and optimum moisture management. This combination leads to a unique comfort in insulated outdoor clothing.

Thin but warm

The TENCEL® wadding is thinner but it can be warmer than the PES wadding given the right construction.

Waddings of TENCEL® can be warmer than those of polyester even with the same thickness. This gives more options in terms of garment styling, freedom of movement, as well as optimum wear comfort. In addition, TENCEL® is distinctive due to its unique heat balance and guarantees that the temperature of the body is regulated to perfection when performing sports.

Perfect insulation

An infrared camera measures the thermal insulation. Red signifies a greater loss of heat.

The use of TENCEL® improves the thermal insulation of outdoor clothing. An infrared camera provides proof: the heat loss experienced in a cold environment is much lower in the side with TENCEL® than in the side containing only polyester.

Moisture management

Compared to synthetic fibers, TENCEL® absorbs much more moisture.

Compared to waddings of 100% synthetic fibers, waddings of TENCEL® and TENCEL® blends stand out due to the superior moisture management. TENCEL® absorbs moisture extremely quickly. It transports moisture away from the body and releases it into the environment. This property leads to the ideal regulation of the skin and body temperature. Moreover, optimum temperature management signifies a superior power of performance. Sports and outdoor textiles of 100% synthetic fibers can lead to higher skin and body temperatures and thus to a reduction in the athlete’s performance.

Botanic fiber

TENCEL® is made of wood.

TENCEL® is derived from eucalyptus wood derived from forests managed according to sustainable principles. One immediately feels that the fiber comes from Nature since botanic principles are applied throughout the entire production process. Thus there is something natural in every article of TENCEL® clothing and this accompanies the wearer all day long. TENCEL® unites functionality and sustainability in a natural way.
